Christmas and deadlines

It’s a little late but happy holidays to my dear readers. I intended to post a blog with a Christmas greeting, but simply could not find the time to do so. I do, however, hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas, or if you do not celebrate, at least had some nice down time.

The past two weeks have been pretty hectic, but also very fun. I miraculously seem to have made all my deadlines. I finished a draft of my chapter at the beginning of the month,as well as a draft of my book review last week and just completed a draft of my three articles for the Companion to Victorian Popular Literature. And… I also managed to finish my best’s friend Christmas card on time!

It’s not entirely perfect, but since I had not drawn anything in about 8 or 9 years, I am quite pleased with the result haha.

I also completed the first part of the super special, ultra secret Christmas surprise.

(Secret) projects to keep me busy

I’m afraid this week is going to be a rather short post as my week has not been very eventful.

I managed to lose another pound last sunday, and that is about as eventful as the week got hahaha. I have mostly been preoccupied with my research as I have a number of deadlines coming up and really don’t want to let it all get down to the wire at the end of December. I have to admit that I am getting a teeeeennyy bit stressed haha.

… BUT, I have finally managed to find something to do on Saturdays!

And I have my bestestest friend to thank for part of it. On a bit of a whim she asked me to draw her a Christmas card to keep me busy. As I verily believe that the last time I sat down and drew something was about 8 years ago,  I was a little apprehensive about it. So I decided to get an early start and actually began the drawing today… And it is going better than I suspected O.o… And this is coming from a perfectionist who never really was content with her own drawings… I really hope she will like the end result. If I get her permission I might share it. 😉 But that will of course be after Christmas.

I have also started a very top secret, hush, hush other Christmas project which will take some time to complete. I had been considering it for years, but never actually sat down to do it or simply thought of it too late so I didn’t have enough time to complete it befor Christmas. This year is different though. I started on this today as well and am pretty excited about it. I immediately realized whilst working on it that this project will help me to like myself (or well, part of myself) a little better. Unfortunately, I cannot reveal to you guys what I am working on (else it would not be top secret), but I will definitely share after Christmas :D.

Apologies for the Christmas themed post in mid-November, but I just like to plan ahead haha ;).
